Diesel History

This is a little bit of history that shows that not only can things go full circle but that petroleum oil dependence was seen as control against the people by certain visionaries.

The diesel engine was invented by Bavarian Rudolf Diesel in 1897; it originally ran on peanut oil. Rudolf wanted his engine to run off of bio-mass to support the farmers and allow common people to have the resources to compete with big industry.

Rudolf also invented a solar powered air engine as well as proved perpetual motion does work with a simple machine that consisted of a 10 cylinder and flywheel that applied the basic principal of heat transference by natural physical processes.

Rudolf Diesel mysteriously disappeared in 1913, some believe he was murdered because he was a pantheist and didn’t want his engines used to power the war machine of the up coming WWI.

All of Rudolf Diesel’s engines ran on veggie oil, it wasn’t until the 1920s that an American banker named William Irwin hired a mechanic and inventor Clessie Cummins to create a diesel engine that would run only on fossil fuel. At that time as you know the petroleum industry like the rest of the country of that time was booming and the oil tycoons had great influence on engine and machine design (sound familiar?)
